Thanks to Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine, 70 families in the municipality of Samac,whose homes were damaged during this year’s floods, received aid in the form of home appliances (refrigerators, stoves…), food packages, hygiene products,bedding and other household utensils.The aid was provided thanks to the Toronto Canada and Chicago offices of the Lifeline Humanitarian Organisation which are under patronage of Crown Princess Katherine. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess personally handed out aid to vulnerable families in Samac, assisted by Mrs. Betty Roumeliotis, the sister of Crown Princess Katherine, Mr. Sava Minic, the Mayor of Samac, Mr. Igor Vidovic, the Minister of Economic Affairs and Regional Cooperation in the Government of the Republic of Srpska, Mr. Goran Mutabdzija, the Minister of Education and Culture of the Republic of Srpska and Mr. Mladjan Cicovic, the director of the Representative Office of the Republic of Srpska in Belgrade. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess delivered an ECG to the health centre in Samac, as a donation of the Foundation Crown Princess Katherine. Also, Their Royal Highnesses visited the nursery “Radost” where they gave children toys.

“The people of the Republic of Srpska need to know that my family and I can never forget the difficulties they faced by both in Serbia and in the Republic of Srpska. For us, the Drina river should not be an obstacle for all of us to work together and help each other in trouble. In the years in which we live troubles are great, but so is our love for you, and the desire to provide the maximum contribution to improving the quality of life of every individual in the Republic of Serbia and Srpska. The Government of the Republic of Srpska knows it can count on my help at any time” – said Crown Prince Alexander.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine said that she was very happy to betoday in Samac. “We are aware that your citysuffered heavily during the May floods andwe are glad that we can help you. The aid we are bringing today was raised at charity events in Toronto and Cleveland. Our people living in the Diaspora have always been trying to help their people. In these tough times, you have to be brave, and my husband, Crown Prince Alexander and I, our friends in the Diaspora, as well as  all peopleof good will in Serbia and abroad, will continue to help those in need” – said CrownPrincess Katherine.

Since the beginning of the May floods Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander, Crown Princess Katherine and Prince Peter have sent aid to the affected areas in the Republic of Srpska on several occasions.Last month Crown Princess Katherine visitedBrodac near Bijeljina, where she delivered humanitarian aid, that was provided by theLifeline Humanitarian Organisation office in Chicago, to the most vulnerable population.
