THE JOY OF THANKSGIVING TO BENEFIT FIGHT AGAINST CANCER IN SERBIA

FUNDS RAISED TO HELP SERBIA, DINNER WITH THE ROYAL COUPLE AUCTIONED RACQUET SIGNED BY NOVAK DJOKOVIC

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended a Gala Charity event  “The Joy of Thanksgiving” organized by the Lifeline Canada Humanitarian Organisation at the Granite Club in Toronto to help fight cancer in Serbia.

Thanks to the impressive endeavors of the Lifeline Canada Executive Board, Mrs. Judy Djurdjevic, Mrs. Branka Gulan Connolly, Mrs.  Dragana Vujasinovic Hartog, Ms. Kathy Yerich, Ms. Lauren Gulan, Mrs. Duka Gartner and Mrs. Milena Protich over 350 distinguished guests gathered to support the cause and show their care for the people of Serbia.

The wonderful program led by Mrs. Lidija Grkovic and Mr. Nikola Manojlovic started with the performance of the Boemi band followed by the speeches delivered by Mrs. Judy Djurdjevic on behalf of the Lifeline Canada Board, HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HRH Crown Princess Katherine, Dr. Petar Vlaovic, fellow of the Royal Colleague of Surgeons and member of the American Board of Urology, Dr. Tomislav Stantic. As a part of the program guests viewed the HRH Crown Princess Katherine annual film highlighting Her Highnesses endeavors and actions to combat cancer.

An auction took place giving guests the opportunity to bid for Ballet tickets for a Alice in the Wonderland show, fantastic weekend packages in Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake, a signed racquet by the world’s Top tennis player Novak Djokovic and a dinner with Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine followed by a private tour of the Royal Compound in Belgrade, Serbia, which was bid and shared by two couples.

Their Royal Highnesses as well as Dr. Tomislav Stantic gave delightful speeches thanking the Serbian Diaspora in Canada and encouraging them to continue supporting their homeland.

Following their visit to Toronto, Their Royal Highnesses attended the Church service at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in  Kitchener/ Waterloo area, Ontario on Sunday, 14 October after which a charity lunch took place. All funds raised were donated by the Kolo Srpskih Sestara to Lifeline Canada Humanitarian Organization in order to   raise awareness and help in the fight against  cancer in Serbia.

Their Royal Highnesses are thankful for the warm welcome of the Serbian Diaspora.
