Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine were guests of honour last night at the Opening Night Gala by the Martha Graham Dance Company at New York City Centre in New York.
The Company was incredibly privileged to honour Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine of Serbia for her global philanthropic work. Noted educational philanthropist and pioneering female entrepreneur Kitty P. Kyriacopoulos was also honoured, while tribute has been paid to the late Ilias Lalaounis, renowned designer of fine jewelry. The 2014 Gala honors leaders of Greek heritage from around the world who, like Martha Graham, lead and inspire through innovation, generosity, and a commitment to empower the next generation, and who are making an impact through significant efforts to lift humanity―whether through art, business, or philanthropy.
The Martha Graham Dance Company’s 2014 Gala Chair is Janis Bishop Tripodakis. Vice-Chairs are Peter Allstrom, Beau Gage, Peggy Lyman and Richard R. Hayes, Judith G. and Herbert S. Schlosser, and Inger K. Witter. There were also present Mr Vuk Jeremic, President of the Center for International Relations and Sustainable Development (CIRSD), former president of United Nations General Assembly with his mother Mrs Sena Jeremic, Mrs Mirjana Zivkovic Consul General of Serbia in New York City, Dr Hedi Hricak and Dr Alex Margulis, Mr David Hryck, and many other distinguished guests.
