HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine visited today the Municipality in Bajina Bašta and opened the summer camp “Naša Srbija” on Mountain Tara.

On a behalf of the Bajina Bašta City Council, Their Royal Highnesses and Their guest from Toronto, Canada, Mrs. Dragana Vujasinović Hartog who is Managing Director of the “Life Line” in Canada, were greeted  by Major Mr. Boban Tomić with his closest associates, as well as with many citizens of Bajina Bašta.

In the City Hall, Their Royal Highnesses, after the warm welcome and long lasting applause, learned about life and successes in developing the Bajina Bašta Municipality.

Greeting the people who gathered Crown Prince pointed out the following:

“The biggest treasure of this place is you, honest and hard working people, good hosts, who know that Serbia needs to be rebuilt. Srbija needs to be returned to big European, modern, democratic family, where it belongs”.

After that, Their Royal Highnesses took a walk around the town, toured the museum and Saint Ilija church.

According to the visit plan, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Monastery Rača where They were ecstatically greeted by people gathered. Welcome was extended by  the head of the Monastery too.

Continuing Their visit, Crown Prince and Princess visited the hotel “Beli Bor” where they were greeted by children gathered in summer school of friendship which was organized, this year too, by humanitarian organization “NAŠA SRBIJA”. This is third gathering in a row for the children whose parents have been killed, kidnapped, or disappeared in the last wars in these areas.

This year, children from Diaspora, participants of the “MOBA” action will join the children from the camp. Beside the gathered children, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by His Grace Bishop of Valjevo and Sabac, Lavrentije.

In his speech to the children and organizers, Crown Prince said that our country was very beautiful and that out children should have enjoyed in it, but also learned to protect it.

“Our love for you is something we wish to give to you and I believe that you will use the time here to make new friendships”-stated the crown prince and declared the summer camp “Naša Srbija” opened.

After that the children preformed short artistic program and presented the Diplomas of Friendship School to Their Royal Highnesses. Princesses Katherine Foundation surprised the children with the ice-cream that will, on daily basis, arrive to the camp. Children greeted such donation with big applause.

At the end of their visit to Bajina Bašta, Their Royal Highnesses visited the Monastery of Saint Nikola in Soko Grad where their host was His Grace Archbisho ofSabac and Valjevo Lavrentije.
