In 2004, Duka Gartner, from Toronto, and her family made two donations, one for an ultrasound unit and another for medical supplies, to the Kovin Primary Health Centre. These donations were made in memory of her sister Mira Avromov who had worked at the Centre for 30 Years as a lab technician.

In 2003, the orphanage “Jovan Jovanovic Zmaj” received 2,000 kg raw and dried meat, donated by Margaret and Lee Lau and family from Toronto. This orphanage has a central kitchen, which allows it to prepare meals for seven other orphanages in Belgrade. The donation satisfied their needs for three months.
